FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need written AML/CFT policies if I am already registered?+
UAE law requires DNFBPs to maintain documented policies, controls and procedures proportionate to their risk. During an inspection the regulator asks to see the manual, not just the registration. No policy, or a copied template, is itself a breach that attracts penalties.
Can you use a standard template for our policy?+
A template alone fails inspection. The law expects a risk-based approach, so your policy must reflect your real clients, services and exposure. We start from a proven framework but tailor every control to your business, which is what regulators look for.
How often should the AML policy be reviewed?+
At least annually, and whenever your business model, risk profile or the law changes. We build a review schedule into the manual and can run the annual update so your framework never goes stale.
Who is responsible for the AML policy inside the company?+
Senior management owns the framework and must approve it, while the appointed AML Compliance Officer maintains and applies it day to day. We make these roles explicit in the policy so accountability is never unclear.
