Who must register on the goAML portal in the UAE?+

All Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions — including auditors, accountants, company service providers, real estate brokers, and dealers in precious metals and stones — must register on goAML and on the Ministry of Economy SACM platform, even if they have never filed a report.

What happens if I do not register on goAML?+

Failure to register exposes the business to administrative penalties starting at AED 50,000 and rising for repeat or serious breaches, plus possible licence action. Registration is a legal obligation under UAE AML/CFT law, not an optional step.

How long does goAML registration take?+

With complete documents and a nominated compliance officer, a profile is usually submitted within days; FIU approval then follows. JPA prepares everything correctly up front to avoid rejection and repeated resubmission, which is the main cause of delay.

Do I still need to register if I have no suspicious activity to report?+

Yes. Registration is mandatory regardless of whether you ever file a report. The obligation is to be registered, screen against sanctions lists and be ready to report — being inactive does not exempt you.
