FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Partial Name Match Report?+
A PNMR is filed on goAML when a customer’s name partially matches a person on a sanctions list but the match is not confirmed as a true hit. It records that the alert was identified and assessed, satisfying the obligation without freezing funds where a full match has not been established.
How is a partial match different from a confirmed match?+
A confirmed match means the customer is the listed person, triggering an immediate freeze and a Fund Freeze Report. A partial match shares some identifiers but is not confirmed, and is reported as a PNMR. Getting this distinction right is critical to avoid both under- and over-reporting.
Do we have to freeze funds on a partial match?+
Not on a partial match alone. You report the PNMR and continue assessment. If it resolves into a confirmed match, the freeze and FFR obligations then apply. We guide that escalation so you act correctly at each stage.
How do we reduce false positives in screening?+
By using quality screening tools with sensible match thresholds and good customer data. We help calibrate your name screening so genuine partial matches surface while noise is reduced, making each alert easier to assess.
