MOFA Attestation
Document authentication by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Required for foreign documents to be recognized in UAE legal and corporate proceedings.
Emirates ID
Mandatory UAE national ID card for all residents. Used for government services, banking, signing contracts, and travel within GCC.
NOC
No Objection Certificate. A formal letter from a UAE sponsor or employer permitting an action like opening a bank account, traveling, or changing visa status.
Trade License
The official permit issued by a UAE licensing authority (DED, free zone, or offshore registry) authorising a company to conduct specific business activities. Renewed annually.
FZE / FZC / FZ-LLC
Free Zone entity types. FZE = single shareholder, FZC = multiple shareholders, FZ-LLC = various free zone naming. All offer limited liability.
LLC
Limited Liability Company. The most common UAE corporate structure for mainland operations. Up to 50 shareholders, limited liability, perpetual succession.
MOA
Memorandum of Association. The constitutional document of a UAE company defining shareholders, share capital, business activities, and management structure.
Tawtheeq
Abu Dhabi tenancy contract registration system administered by the Department of Municipalities and Transport. Equivalent to Ejari for Abu Dhabi properties.
Ejari
Mandatory tenancy contract registration system in Dubai administered by RERA. Required for residency visa, DEWA connection, and bank account opening.
RERA
Real Estate Regulatory Agency, part of Dubai Land Department. Regulates real estate brokers, developers, and tenancy contracts. Issues Ejari certificates.
